Harun Çelik is a graduate student of the Department of History at Iowa State University. His interest lies at the intersection of using digital methodologies to answer questions of social and historical importance. Specifically, Harun is working to expand and contribute to the growing discipline of digital humanities and to pursue projects in interdisciplinary research. His current research interests revolve around historical maps and their digitization for interaction with today's software.

"Much like history, I see data science as contributing to understanding questions centered around our lives. When we accept that information we receive about the world is based on data, we open up endless possibilities in comprehension using data science."
