Gary Taylor

 

Gary Taylor is the Program Director for the Community and Economic Development program of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and a Professor of Community and Regional Planning at Iowa State University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Northwest Missouri State University and his JD from the University of Nebraska College of Law. Gary also earned his Master’s in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University. His primary interests are in land-use law, state and local regulation of the development process, hazard mitigation planning, floodplain regulation, intergovernmental cooperation and contracting, and the mediation of land-use disputes. His primary Extension and Outreach programming areas include community comprehensive planning, zoning, subdivision and other land use matters, as well as local government collaboration.
